🎨 Inside the Church – A Family-Friendly Space
The church interior is simple yet beautiful.
When sunlight passes through the stained glass, colors reflect across the pews, creating a space that feels sacred and artistic at the same time.
✨ On the second floor, there’s also a children’s room – a thoughtful detail for families. Parents can attend Mass without worry, while little ones have a safe, quiet space to play.

🛍️ Pair It With a Market Walk
One reason I recommend Dongdaemun Catholic Church for visitors is its location. Before or after Mass, you can wander through:
- Dongmyo Flea Market (Dokkaebi Market) – Seoul’s best-known vintage and antique market
- Jungang Market – a traditional local market filled with grains, snacks, and the smell of street food
- Dongmyo Street Market – endless stalls where you’ll find retro clothes, toys, and hidden treasures
The transition from the lively noise of the market to the sacred silence of the church makes the experience even more special.
✨ A Suggested “Pilgrimage in the City” Itinerary
- Morning: Stroll through Dongmyo Flea Market, explore Jungang Market
- Lunch: Taste Korean street food inside the market
- Evening: Attend the 6 PM Youth Mass or Saturday Anticipated Mass at Dongdaemun Catholic Church
- Night: End the day with quiet reflection under the church cross, glowing softly in the night sky
💖 A Note From My Heart
For me, Dongdaemun Catholic Church is not just another parish. It’s a spiritual resting place where I can breathe again after a busy day.
If you’re walking the streets of Seoul and want both culture and prayer, I truly recommend making this church part of your journey.
